Vintage News, April 2019

It’s been a busy time here at Minnow Creek – between the picking, fermenting and bottling we’ve hardly had time to gather our thoughts.

Tony is very excited about the Shiraz, picked in March. In his words, it’s ‘probably some of the best Shiraz I have picked in the past five years.’ The fruit is in beautiful condition. It’s been crushed and pressed, producing a gorgeous deep colour with violets and dark berry aromatics. Tony reckons it’s ‘really wonderful wine. I could not be happier!’ We haven’t seen him this excited in a long time, so keep an eye out for it!

Here’s Tony in his element (and entirely ruining that yellow t-shirt).

It’s red season at the moment, with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon just picked and fermented. Both are giving us beautiful, deep, bright fruit and excellently structured tannins. It’s looking like a brilliant vintage this year!

Here are some photos of our beautiful Sangiovese grapes.

And here are some very satisfying videos of the bottling process!
